Official complaint channels

Investors with a contractual payment dispute in the UAE have official channels open to them. Using them is every investor's right.

A contractual payment dispute is a civil matter. Nothing on this page suggests that any offence has occurred, and which channel, if any, fits your situation is for you to assess. Below is a neutral overview; inside the group, members will be able to compare notes on how these procedures work.

The people who set up this group have used these official channels themselves.

Your own contract

The primary route for a contractual dispute is the one your contract itself names: it specifies a governing law and competent courts. Check your own documents first; they tell you which entity you dealt with and where a claim would belong.

Capital Market Authority (CMA, formerly the SCA)

The UAE's securities regulator accepts complaints about licensed financial firms through its online portal. A filing fee applies; the portal shows the current amount. Complaints receive a reference number you can track. Have your contract details ready.

Ministry of Interior — eCrime

The federal MOI portal and app accept reports that meet their own criteria, from residents of any emirate. The Dubai Police eCrime portal serves Dubai residents; residents of other emirates use the federal channel. At the time of writing the portal's own guidance describes which file formats it accepts; confirm on the portal before uploading.

Economic Security Center of Dubai (ESCD)

Dubai's economic security body operates a reporting channel; its own criteria define what it accepts. Use the Report Incident option on its site.

Outside the UAE

Depending on your product, the regulator in the jurisdiction named in your own contract or product documents may also be relevant. Once the group is formed, members will be able to compare notes on this.

Practical tips that save time: government portals often reject special characters in text fields and file names, so keep both plain; keep every reference number and receipt; and file in your own name about your own contracts only. Details of official processes change; always confirm on the official portal. This page is general information, not legal advice.
